CSI: Classroom Student Investigations
Classroom Student Investigations, uses the popularity of the hit tv show Crime Scene Investigation, involving forensic science investigation, as a metaphor to train students in primary / secondary source historical topics and use that training in their History Classrooms to stimulate and encourage students in historical topics. The project begun in 2001 by Dr. Reed has been sucessfully used to increased student interest in Historical topics using students interest in the culturally popular portrayal of forensic science to convey many basic history principles. Over 200 CSI cases have been created featuring various
key points in history using modern film, voice recorded speeches, primary source documents, secondary source documents, archived photos, and static maps and displays.
